The Toddler Park project at 507 Elm Street is the culmination of almost four years of work by the town and the Hudson County Brownfield Demonstration Pilot.

The park is located in a residential neighborhood, on the site of a former tool and die manufacturer. Abandoned for over twenty years, the site lay fallow and was an eyesore in a family neighborhood. The only park in the area was located several blocks away and across an active railroad crossing.

The site became a part of the HC Brownfield Demonstration Pilot in 1999. Through the dedicated work of the town and the Pilot Stakeholders the dream of creating a park was realized through assistance from the EPA and County CDBG funds.
